Grouped Feedback Delay Networks With Frequency-Dependent Coupling

Feedback Delay Networks are one of the most popular and efficient means generating artificial reverberation. Recently, we proposed Grouped Network (GFDN), which couples multiple FDNs while maintaining system stability. The GFDN can be used to model reverberation in coupled spaces that exhibit multi-stage decay. block feedback matrix determines inter- intra-group coupling. In this article, expand on design include frequency-dependent coupling among various FDN groups. We show how paraunitary matrices designed emulate diffraction at aperture connecting rooms. Several methods for construction nearly investigated. method supports rendering virtual acoustics complex room topologies games XR applications.
